‘Pintara Kuca’ is a 200 year old stone built townhouse situated in the old part of the fishing village of Trpanj, on the Peljesac peninsula off the Dalmatian coast. It has been renovated to provide spacious, contemporary accommodation and all the facilities needed for the perfect holiday.
It’s a large 4 storey house with 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, attic family room, large roof terrace and lots of stairs. Both the living room and family rooms have sofa beds so the house can easily and comfortably accommodate 8 guests.
The house is laid out over 4 floors with large rooms, numerous levels and lots of stairs so it's not best suited to anyone with mobility issues or with small children.
The kitchen and dining room are on the ground floor, together with the shower room and understairs laundry. On the first floor, there's a living room with balcony, small terrace and the smaller of the three double bedrooms. The master bedroom, a king sized double and the family bathroom are on the second floor, whilst the top floor is split into two areas; a large family room (second living area) and roof terrace with stone sink, seating and BBQ area.
Trpanj itself is a traditional fishing village on the northern end of the Peljesac peninsula, Croatia's main wine growing region. The village is split into two; new and old, with the house being located on a narrow street in the oldest part of the village. It is not accessible by car but you can park nearby to unload. There are no shops in this area, but that is more than made up for by the fabulous cafe bar at the end of the street, gorgeous architecture, nearby beaches and stunning scenery. Other local amenities including a butcher, baker, supermarkets, post office, medical centre, cafes and restaurants can be found in the harbour area in the newest part of the village a few minutes' walk away.
The village is about 2 hour's drive from both Split and Dubrovnik airports, although if you prefer not to hire a car, it can be accessed by ferry from Ploce on the mainland. It is also well served by the numerous bus routes which link the mainland with the peninsula's main administrative centre, Orebic and with Korcula, a popular island off the peninsula, World Heritage Site and birthplace of Marco Polo.
