Martinšćica is located 28 km from Cres, on the western coast of the island, in a wide bay of gentle hills, natural advantages, primarily the beautiful beaches which surround it, once a place of fishermen, but today more tourist-oriented development. Place, and the whole bay were named after the medieval church of St. Martin located above the sea waves. Church and Franciscan monastery, built in the 16th century make up the historical center of Martinšćica.
