I’m Richard Affleck, the English owner. I do hope you choose to stay at my treasured seafront villa home. I manage all my clients needs directly, so do drop me a line with any questions you have.
Fully restored, Footprints Villa is a 19th century former sea captains residence and enjoys stunning south-westerly facing sea views and beyond to the island of Korcula.
The villa is located in the historic seaside village of Viganj (pronounced vee-gan), north of Dubrovnik on the Dalmatian mainland. Being on the mainland, there is no need to catch a ferry to island destinations, saving hours of travel time, especially in peak season. Viganj is opposite the famed island of Korcula, where you can enjoy experiencing the old 12th century walled city - accessible via the little foot ferry that leaves just 100m from the villa.
Viganj has many excellent family run restaurants, serving seafood caught in the bay. The village is also Croatia's premium windsurfing and kiteboarding capital, with great facilities, tuition for beginners and quite a spectical for those on shore to enjoy (the villa's seafront terraces overlook the main areas).
For those wishing to stay closer to shore, the village has delightful little beaches, with boutique bars dotted along the sea edge through the village and beyond.
It's a perfect sea side escape for groups & families.
Just a little about myself and my villa home...After buying the property, I spent 3 years of painstaking and dedicated restoration using local craftsmen.
If you choose to come and stay, I can arrange low cost airport (Dubrovnik) transfers to and from the the villa, far cheaper than those offered on line through a general search. Cars can be hired locally for days out. I also offer a free pre-arrival shopping service - just send me a list for provisions you will require for your first evening/breakfast and all will be awaiting you upon your arrival. Groceries simply charged as detailed on the receipt.
My sea edge villa home has exposed original stone blending with stylish, contemporary finishings, hi-end sanitary ware & furnishings. Footprints is fully air-conditioned, and heated if you come in the cooler months. The villa actually dates back 2 centuries and its original features have been carefully retained, yet it offers modern elegance in one the most amazing location one would wish to find in Croatia.
You'd fly to Dubrovnik (I can advise about flights).
My home is right on the sea front, near the 18th century church in the middle of the village so no car is needed, as every facility one requires (beaches, bars, restaurant, shop, water taxi) is no more than 100 metres in either direction.
As well as an IPod Dock, my TV system runs UKTV EVERYWHERE - a new Internet system provide top UK and International channels.
Of course, there is free wireless Internet all through the villa.

The lovely pool is private and is in the rear courtyard, and a good size of 8.3mx 6m. It's surrounded by sun beds & has a locally made stone dining table for all. The villa is fully gated to secure little wandering guests from escaping.
The front of the villa, overlooking the clear and inviting Adriatic is the real unique feature of my villa. A huge terrace, west facing with comfy settee for lounging, and a further stone table and chairs for sunset dining is such a special place to just take in the beauty with your family and friends.
It's worth noting that Viganj hosts the national, and every few words the World windsurfing championships, so from the terrace you can watch the pro's doing there stuff as well as have a go yourself. Tuition is offered on our beach to beginners. If teenagers are in your party, they will love to 'hang out' with the surfers (one of my first photos shows the beach, (with bars for a beer) from where this exhilarating sport can be enjoyed...or just watched!).
I own and operate the villa directly with all clients who enquire and choose to book. I have my own site. I can assure you of a personal service and can answer any questions you have.
I have a wonderful local manager who speaks several languages, and she will assist with any thing you may need during your holiday. She is also responsible for oversees the cleaning, servicing, pool care etc.
