Positive: - The house looks like what you see in the pictures and it was nice and clean. At the end of our first week two ladies came and changed the sheets and did some quick general cleaning. - The host (property manager) was super nice and kind, very helpful and responsive. We had some issues (some of the ACs were not working when we got there) and questions (where is the nearest open pharmacy on Sunday?) and everything was dealt with professionally. - The rooms are very spacious and the beds and mattresses are quite comfortable (we prefer mattresses that are not too soft and these weren’t). - The kitchen is equipped super well, it has plenty of dishes, cutlery, glasses, mugs, pots, pans, plastic containers and basically anything you might need to use if you’re cooking. - A lot of necessities were provided with the house: hand soap, toilet paper, bin bags, napkins etc. It was very helpful to have all of these on hand right after arriving. The beach is approx. 1 kilometre from the house if you walk down the road (serpentine; mostly no sidewalk). You can also use stairs leading down to the beach which is faster but can be more challenging physically. I’d say that for adults and older kids the walk is perfectly fine, but getting to the beach and back to the house can be a bit more challenging if you have small kids, people with mobility issues or lots of stuff to carry.

Negative: - The house and its appliances are a bit on the older side and therefore some things don’t work perfectly, for example the freezer door doesn’t close properly, lights outside don’t work reliably etc. Noting major, just some small annoyances. - The small fountain looks inviting on the pictures but in reality, 40-50+ bees and wasps are there drinking and flying around while the sun is up. It’s pretty inconvenient if you want to sit outside during the day. If I were to stay here again, I’d definitely ask the hosts to drain the fountain before I arrive. - There is no air conditioning downstairs (so in the kitchen and dining area). Only the actual bedrooms have ACs, which can make other areas in the house feel pretty hot and stuffy. - There is no air conditioning in the gym, which is upstairs in the “tower” so it’s essentially unusable during summer, in my opinion.

Summary: We stayed at Villa Arta for two weeks. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
